The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Dehradun has been established by the Grants-in-Aid Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to cater for training and imparting education in the field of Tourism and Hospitality. It is situated near ONGC Helipad, Tapkeshwar Temple Lane, Garhi Cantt., Dehradun. Presently, it is running all the 3 year of 3 year B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration along with 18 months diploma in Food Production and Food & Beverage Service.
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility to IHM Dehradun towards implementing agency for conducting the following two short job oriented hospitality courses in the trades of (1) Food & Beverage Service, including housekeeping (Waiter-cum-Houseman) and (2) Food Production (Cooks-Regional) of six weeks and eight weeks respectively for 8th class pass persons who are between the age of 18 to 28 years.
The two courses would be delivered by affiliated Institutes of Hotel Management and Food Craft Institutes of the National Council for Hotel Management. The courses would be conducted in batch size of 20 to 30. There will be no course fee, students would be paid stipend of Rs.1500/- for Food & Beverage course and Rs.2000/- for Food Production course upon attaining minimum 90% attendance. The trainees would be paid uniform, course material and tool kit free of cost. Upon completion of the course test would be conducted by the implementing institute and certificate awarded. The Institutes would make effort to organize campus recruitment by trade organization for employment.
The above short term job oriented courses has been launched by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India for skill development with an emphasis on the employability of the skills acquired.

It was a great pleasure for IHM Dehradun to Host the Certification program for Hunar Se Rozgar Trainees on 08.12.2012 at the Atrium of Hometel (Boys Hostel). Hon’ble Education Minister, Uttarakhand Shri Mantri Prasad Naithani was the Chief Guest on the occasion to distribute the certificates to the successful candidates.
