About Institute

The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Dehradun is an Autonomous Institute setup by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India under its Grants-In-Aid Scheme and is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida. The institute is running under the registered State Government Society & managed by Governing Body, started its first Academic Session from July, 2006.

IGNOU was providing 3 years B.Sc. degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (H&HA) till 2023.  The degree from the batch 2023-26 onwards will be awarded by Jawahar Lal University (JNU), New Delhi on 3 years B.Sc. degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (H&HA).  The 3 year programme consists of teaching of operation system of the hotels in respect of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office and Housekeeping and its ancillaries.  Institute is also providing five diploma courses of eighteen months in the field of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Bakery & Confectionery, Housekeeping and Front Office.

The Institute is fully equipped with appropriate laboratories and classrooms for students to acquire the required skill standards in the Degree & Diploma Programs. Institute is also well equipped with labs, classrooms, guest rooms, library, Gymnasium, Yoga studio, sports field, basketball court, Music Room, etc. for dissimulation knowledge, attitude and skill to the students. Faculties are highly qualified who specialize in dissemination of knowledge in their respective fields of expertise.
